Jose Mier: Guy Fieri, Come to Sun Valley

You know, we in Sun Valley have come close to being featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Our Burbank neighbors like Chili Johns had a go and Champs Sports Pub got featured on Bar Rescue. There are others but why name them. We have plenty of contenders here in Sun Valley.

The format for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives never varies. Guy visits a city and drops into one of the landmark eateries to see how they make their signature dishes. The dishes are always spectacular and we watch Guy sample the food and rave about it.

Okay, fine. How about coming to Sun Valley? I could point out a dozen places off the bat that create unique and eye-popping fare that would be great for TV. Burrito Bomba is one. If you look at their website and the size and COLOR or their breakfast burritos it’s like they want to jump out of the screen and into your mouth. How about this one, Guy?

Then there’s Salsa and Beer . Take a look at the pictures customers have taken of the food and tell me they’re not photogenic, much less delicious. The tacos they serve are exactly the kind of stuff Guy would love.

Not enough? What about The Ramp? This place is MADE for TV. For crying out loud it’s situated under the 5 freeway! That’s good ratings. It was good before owner Gary Brick sold the place but now under new ownership the Itaian fare they serve is great too. Don’t forget the ambiance. Hasn’t changed under the new owners and it looks like Sun Valley’s own version of a speakeasy. Guy, I’m talking to you. It takes a special touch to make garlic bread the way they do and you’ll love it.

So, the clock starts ticking now. I’m going to wait and see how long it takes for Diners Drive-Ins and Dives to show up in Sun Valley. Come on Guy. Time’s a-wasting.
